Terms of Service

Effective Date: May 24, 2026 Last Updated: May 24, 2026

Welcome to Summit Windows and Doors. We're a family-owned business serving Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent, and we believe great relationships start with clear expectations. These Terms of Service explain how our website works, what you can expect from us when you request a quote or book an installation, and what we ask of you in return.

By visiting summitwindows.ca, requesting a free in-home consultation, or hiring us for window, door, or patio door work, you agree to these Terms. If anything here isn't clear, please give us a call — we'd rather talk it through than leave you with questions.

1. Who These Terms Apply To

These Terms apply to everyone who:

  • Visits or uses our website, summitwindows.ca

  • Contacts us by phone, email, or our online form

  • Books a free in-home consultation

  • Receives a quote or estimate

  • Hires Summit for window, door, or patio door supply and installation services

In these Terms, "Summit," "we," "our," and "us" refer to Summit Windows and Doors, based at 710 Mersea Road 21, Wheatley, ON N0P 2P0. "You" and "your" refer to the visitor, homeowner, or client using our website or services.

2. Our Service Area

Summit proudly serves homeowners across Windsor-Essex County and Chatham-Kent in southwestern Ontario. If you're outside our regular service area, please contact us — we'll let you know whether we can help.

3. Use of Our Website

You're welcome to browse summitwindows.ca to learn about our windows, doors, patio doors, promotions, and process. When you use our website, you agree to:

  • Use it for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes

  • Provide accurate information when you fill out forms or request a quote

  • Not interfere with the website's operation, security, or other users' experience

  • Not copy, scrape, reproduce, or republish our content without our written permission

We may suspend or restrict access to the website at any time, for any reason, without notice — usually for maintenance, security, or content updates.

4. Intellectual Property

All content on summitwindows.ca — including text, photos, graphics, product descriptions, logos, and design — is owned by Summit Windows and Doors or used with permission from our partners (such as Vinylguard, Novatech, Edgetech, and Garaga). It's protected by Canadian and international copyright and trademark laws.

You may view, download, and print pages of our website for your personal, non-commercial use only. Any other use — including reproduction, modification, or distribution — requires our prior written consent.

Product names like Vinylguard, Novatech, Super Spacer, and Garaga are trademarks of their respective owners and are used here to describe the products we install.

5. Free In-Home Consultations and Quotes

We offer free, no-obligation in-home consultations to homeowners in our service area. Here's what to expect:

  • A member of our team (often Nettie at the office) will help schedule your consultation, typically within a few days.

  • During the consultation, we'll discuss your project, take measurements, and recommend cost-saving options.

  • We'll provide a written quote based on the products, options, and configurations you choose.

Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued, unless we tell you otherwise in writing. Prices may change after that period due to material costs, supplier pricing, or product updates. A quote is an estimate — it becomes a binding agreement only once both parties sign a written contract or order confirmation.

6. Products and Services

Summit specializes in:

  • Vinylguard windows — Canadian-made, Energy Star certified, available in 12+ styles

  • Novatech entry doors — assembled in-house at our Wheatley location

  • PVC patio doors — locally assembled, Energy Star compliant

While we work hard to keep product descriptions, colours, dimensions, and features accurate on our website, please note:

  • Colours shown on screen may vary from the actual finish.

  • Product specifications, models, and options may change without notice as manufacturers update their offerings.

  • Availability of specific styles, colours, or features may be limited.

Final product details, dimensions, and pricing are confirmed in your signed contract — that's the document that governs your project.

7. Pricing, Promotions, and Offers

Prices listed on our website or in marketing materials are estimates only and do not include taxes, permits (if required), or custom add-ons unless stated. Final pricing is provided in your written quote after your in-home consultation.

We periodically run promotions to help our clients save more. Current offers may include things like:

  • A free door (up to $3,000 value) with an order of 16 or more windows

  • $1,000 off when you purchase 10 or more windows

  • A free handle ($300 value) with a window-and-door order

  • $200 off patio door orders placed before spring

Each promotion is subject to specific eligibility and timing requirements. Promotions cannot be combined unless we say so in writing, and they may be modified, paused, or withdrawn at any time without notice. The details of any active promotion will be confirmed in your written quote.

We're also happy to walk you through Canadian government energy efficiency rebates and grants you may qualify for — but those programs are run by third parties (such as Natural Resources Canada), and we can't guarantee approval or specific rebate amounts.

8. Payment Terms

We keep payment as straightforward as our handshake.

  • For projects under $20,000, we generally do not require a deposit. You pay once the work is complete and you're happy with the result.

  • For larger projects or custom orders, a deposit may be required to cover materials. Any deposit terms will be set out in writing in your contract.

  • Final payment is due upon completion of the installation, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • We accept the payment methods listed in your contract. Late payments may be subject to interest as permitted by Ontario law.

If for any reason you're not happy with the completed work, tell us. We'll do everything we can to make it right — that's the Summit way.

9. Installation

Our expert installers go above and beyond on every job. As part of a standard installation, we will:

  • Use drop cloths to protect your floors and furnishings

  • Score trim and remove exterior finish and caulking as needed

  • Move furniture, curtains, and blinds where required

  • Vacuum and tidy the workspace each day

  • Dispose of all packaging, old materials, and job-site garbage

Some things you should know before installation day:

  • We'll do our best to keep to the scheduled start date, but weather, supplier delays, or unforeseen site conditions can push timing. We'll keep you informed every step of the way.

  • Please ensure clear access to the work areas, and let us know about pets, alarm systems, or any special considerations.

  • If we discover existing structural issues, rot, mould, or other conditions during installation, we'll pause, talk it through with you, and provide a written quote for any additional work before proceeding.

10. Warranties

Our products are backed by some of the strongest warranties in the industry:

  • Vinylguard windows: A non-prorated, fully transferable Lifetime Warranty on labour and materials. The warranty transfers with the home, giving you (and any future owners) lasting peace of mind.

  • Novatech entry doors:

    • N300 steel doors: 5-year warranty

    • N600, N700, and N900 steel doors: 10-year warranty

    • Decorative Accents: 5-year warranty

    • 4 Panel doors: Limited Lifetime Warranty for residential projects; 3-year warranty for multi-residential or commercial projects

  • Patio doors: Manufacturer warranties as specified in your contract.

  • Workmanship: Our installation workmanship is guaranteed as set out in your contract.

Warranties cover defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use. They do not cover:

  • Damage caused by accident, abuse, neglect, or improper care

  • Damage from extreme weather events, fire, flood, or other acts of nature

  • Modifications or repairs made by anyone other than Summit or an authorized service provider

  • Normal wear and tear, fading, or minor variations in finish

To make a warranty claim, contact our office. Full warranty terms are provided with your purchase and on file with us.

11. Cancellations and Changes

We understand life happens. Here's how cancellations and changes work:

  • You may cancel a written contract within 10 days of signing without penalty (in line with Ontario's Consumer Protection Act).

  • After the 10-day period, changes or cancellations may be subject to charges for custom-ordered materials, restocking, or work already completed.

  • Custom-manufactured products (custom sizes, special colours, decorative glass, etc.) cannot be returned or exchanged once production has started.

  • If you need to reschedule your installation date, please give us as much notice as possible so we can keep the project on track.

We'll always do our best to be flexible — just call us as soon as you know.

12. Your Responsibilities

To help your project go smoothly, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about your home and project

  • Confirm you are the homeowner or have authority to approve the work

  • Obtain any permits, condo board approvals, or HOA permissions required for your project (we'll let you know if any are needed)

  • Provide reasonable access to the property during scheduled installation

  • Notify us promptly of any concerns during or after installation

13. Third-Party Products and Links

Our installations include products from third-party manufacturers like Vinylguard, Novatech, Edgetech, and Garaga. While we stand behind everything we install, these products are covered by their manufacturers' own specifications, warranties, and policies.

Our website may also include links to third-party sites (for example, garaga.com or government rebate pages). We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices. Visit them at your own discretion.

14. Disclaimers

Our website is provided "as is" and "as available." While we work hard to keep information accurate and up to date, we don't guarantee that every detail on summitwindows.ca is complete, current, or error-free.

  • Energy savings estimates (such as the "8% average savings" figure from Natural Resources Canada) are estimates only. Your actual savings depend on your home, climate, existing windows, usage habits, and other factors.

  • Rebate and incentive amounts are set by third-party programs and are not guaranteed by Summit.

  • Product appearance on your screen may differ slightly from the finished product due to monitor settings and other factors.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Summit disclaims all warranties not expressly stated in these Terms or in your written contract.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Ontario law, Summit Windows and Doors, its owners, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of our website or our services — including (but not limited to) lost profits, lost savings, loss of data, or interruption of business.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of your use of our services will not exceed the amount you actually paid us for the specific project giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act or other applicable Canadian consumer protection laws.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Summit Windows and Doors, its owners, employees, and contractors harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • Your breach of these Terms

  • Your misuse of our website

  • Your violation of any law or third-party rights

  • False or inaccurate information you provide to us

17. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada that apply there. Any disputes between you and Summit will be handled in the courts of Ontario.

If you have a concern or complaint, we'd much rather hear about it directly first — most things can be resolved with a quick conversation. Call us, email us, or stop by the office and let's talk it through.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our business, products, or the law. When we do, we'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll do our best to let you know directly — by email, a notice on our website, or both. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

19. Severability

If any part of these Terms is found by a court to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest of the Terms will remain in full force and effect.

20. Entire Agreement

These Terms — together with any written contract or order confirmation you sign with us, and our Privacy Policy — make up the entire agreement between you and Summit Windows and Doors regarding your use of our website and services.
